Login to Bid Manager Training Computers and
Training Instance
The Training Instance of Bid Manager can only be accessed through a secure portal. When outside the Eaton Network, Distributors and Eaton Employees will use the Distributor Extranet. Sales Representatives and Suppliers will use Supplier Select.
When accessing the Bid Manager training environment within an Eaton network at an Eaton facility, login through a secure portal (Extranet/DRC or Supplier Select, or directly by clicking the Bid Manager Training link.
Procedures in this Job Aid:
· Login to Bid Manager Training Instance Inside the Eaton Network
· Login to Bid Manager Training Instance from ANY Internet Connection
· Maintenance/Troubleshooting: Log on to the Eaton Network Every 28 Days
· Troubleshooting: Windows Password Reset Instructions
Everyone using the Bid Manager Training Computers will use the laptop ID and laptop password for Windows (see below).
Eaton employees MUST NOT login to their profile (E-number) or JOE (connect.eaton.com) while using a Bid Manager training laptop. This includes checking web mail on the training laptop.
Note: Logging into JOE would render the laptop unusable as the laptop would attempt to pull the employee’s profile onto the laptop and this could take several hours. This would also cause multiple issues for their normal computer.
1. Locate the Training Laptop ID located on the lid of the laptop.
2. Press crtl-alt-del on the laptop keyboard.
3. Login to Windows by entering the Laptop ID in the username field, and entering the password Welcome12.
Note: This password is valid through July 2013. After this date it may change. Check with your laptop owner to verify.
4. Press Enter.
Login to Bid Manager Training Instance Inside the Eaton Network
When using the Bid Manager training laptops at an Eaton facility, you have the choice to login directly to the Bid Manager Training instance, bypassing the Extranet/DRC and Supplier Select secure portals. This is most appropriate for Eaton Employees.
This procedure does not teach Distributors or Suppliers how to login to the training instance through their own secure portal, as they normally would at their own location. To do this, use the instructions in the next section (Login to the Training Instance from ANY Internet Connection).
1. Browse to the Eaton Employee Bid Manager Training Link: http://bidmanagertraining.tcc.etn.com/BidManager/Training/login.aspx
Eaton Employees with a Bid Manager ID
2. Login using your domain\E-number and your Windows Password.
Distributors, Suppliers and Eaton Employees without a Bid Manager ID
3. Use a Bid Manager training ID with Sales, Distributor/Supplier, or Plant permissions (see Appendix B).
4. Login using the domain nasa\userXX (where XX is ID 01-15) and the password electric.
5. Bid Manager will load and the Home Page will appear.
Login to Bid Manager Training Instance from ANY Internet Connection
Use this procedure for Distributors and Suppliers, as it mimics the login procedures they would normally use. However, when Eaton Employees are connecting outside the Eaton Network, they will also login through a secure portal.
Since logging into the Eaton secure portal (JOE) is forbidden on the Bid Manager laptops, Eaton Employees will login through the Extranet/DRC using the generic DRC login and password.
Distributors, Eaton Employees, and anyone without a secure login password
1. Browse to the Eaton Extranet/DRC: https://electricalextranet.eaton.com/eVista/ExtranetAccess
2. Enter your own Extranet User ID and Password (if known) or use the Extranet Login for this computer (see Appendix A), the password Welcome12 and click Login.
Note: Appendix A has Distributor, Sales, and Plant ID’s/passwords. Once logged in, Bid Manager will function with the respective permission sets.
Note: When a user does not remember their ID, use the Extranet User Manager link to lookup their Extranet ID.
3. On the DRC page, in the right navigation column under Training & Documentation, click the Bid Manager Training link.
Sales Representatives and other Suppliers
1. Login to the Supplier Select Secure portal: http://supplierselect.eaton.com/pbs/cmd/brainSupplierSelect
2. Click on the Next Generation of Bid Manager link.
3. Bid Manager will automatically load.
Maintenance/Troubleshooting: Log on to the Eaton Network Every 28 Days
The Bid Manager training laptops must be logged onto the Eaton network every 28 days to prevent them from being dropped from the domain. The person who has possession of the laptops during this time will be responsible for logging the laptops onto the network to prevent this issue.
1. When they are dropped from the domain, an Eaton employee can:
· Enter a ticket through the IT Service Catalog (non-urgent)
OR
· Call the Global Support Center (GSC) (urgent)

Troubleshooting: Windows Password Reset Instructions
1. When the Laptop IDs or Bid Manager Training IDs do not work:
· Click the “forgot password” link on the DRC
OR
· Call 1-800-468-1705, select option 3.
