UPS Input Feed:

The UPS has both a rectifier input and bypass input.  By selecting “dual input” as the input feed option, two separate power feeds to the UPS must be made during installation.  Alternatively, by selecting “single input,” the factory will install a jumper inside the UPS such that the single bypass source brought to the UPS feeds both the bypass and the rectifier inputs inside the UPS.

When configuring the UPS with a 4-breaker bypass sidecar, the UPS must be selected as dual input because the bypass has two separate input breakers to feed the UPS.  It is important to note that for the 480V 93PM, the 4-breaker sidecar option requires two sources to be brought into the sidecar during installation.  On the 208V 93PM, the 4-breaker sidecar option will ship with an internal jumper allowing for a single source to the bypass.  This sidecar single input jumper can be removed in the field if the site requires two separate inputs to the sidecar.

Generally for other configurations, the default would be “single input,” unless the site intends to provide two separate power feeds to the UPS.

If you are unsure which option will be needed, select “single input” so that the internal jumper between the rectifier and bypass is factory installed.  It can be removed in the field if needed.
